Funimation Dubbing Controversy - Shrek is fed up with Funimation.

Actually something did happen about a month ago, not directly related to this, but important considering that it is a pattern with them (had to archive it due to "not being available in my country"). TL;DR: Funimation will soon have actual influence in the development of some anime from the very source by becoming an "Anime Production Committee".

"Instead of simply licensing the rights to a finished show (as companies usually do), Funimation is now able to take part ownership of some titles directly when bringing them to the rest of the world. There’s no fear about losing the rights to these shows either; they are here to stay in the Funimation library in perpetuity. Conversely, Funimation is trusted by the rest of the committee to use their international expertise to better market the show to foreign viewers and provide more detailed input to the other Japanese companies regarding what fans abroad would like to see. It’s a win-win."

The bolded part is what has anime fans concerned the most. They could basically become 4Kids to the 10th power now.

Okay imagine it's 10-15 years ago and dubbers are throwing in basically identical lines against say… Christianity or some religion when you can't throw a stone on the internet without somebody having an argument about religion, would you feel the same way?

It's not just that people have very strong opinions on gender politics today, it's that there are people who will willingly bring it into entirely unrelated conversations and those people kinda deserve to be shit on as trolls. People get tired of having the same argument after a while, I know I do. Sad thing is I'm supposed to theoretically be on the same side of the political spectrum as some of these people even though it can feel like I wouldn't be able to see them with a telescope.
