The trick to remembering dreams is to stay completely still when you wake up. I heard dreams are created using the part of our brain which manages motor control, so as soon as you start moving, that operation overwrites your memories.
It's thanks to this info that I've been able to remember a bunch of my dreams, like the one where I was playing TF2 and the map was my house, and the one where the miniatures in a massive sand covered canyon like hobby shop were alive, and the one I had last night where there was a virus sealed in a book in an old library which could cause exposed blood to move and used it to travel, and one where I was at a carnival and found a zombie with an upper torso so blown open that it was unrecognizable as a person, which I dreamed I woke up from trying to scream, but I didn't have the strength to use my voice so I just lied on my back heaving, and then the rest of the dream was a normal day in which I'd suddenly start screaming at random points, which is when I realized I have a fear of not being able to scream loud enough if I was in danger

You know, with all the weird ass ones I remember, it makes me wonder what the ones I've forgotten are like.
