So back in WW2, the Soviets trained and deployed Anti-Tank dogs to fight the German Panzers.

They would train the dogs to find food under tanks, play battle sounds to make them less likely to spook and then strapped a bomb with a instant switch detonator on their backs. The dogs would be starved before battle started and then be unleashed onto the battlefield to cause chaos.

Unfortunately for the Soviets, they used stationary Russian tanks in their training which had different smelling fuel than the German tanks. Because of this, the dogs often got spooked by active German Tanks and the chaos of battle which caused them to either return to their handlers or run to the defending soviet tanks.

It worked well enough for the Soviets and Russians to keep training anti-tank dogs until 1996; but pretty much everyone agreed that blowing up large numbers of dogs for minimal gains was horrible and stupid idea.
