The problem with these polls, is that they usually only poll cities or people who regularly use internet and social media. They don't go out into rural. 97% of the nation is considered rural where it's more common that people are still getting their news from TV and Radio rather than regular internet usage. Here's an example of PA in the last election. As you can see the large cities like Pittsburgh, Philly, and Harrisburg are democratic. Cities are usually a focal point for liberal and minority groups. However the vast majority of the state is rural and voted republican. In these types of polls it's difficult to get an actually accurate sample. Hell even on election day when we're supposed to have the most accurate data there is still contention.
