I bet the parents that let let their kids watch this didnt even read the film's rating and are going to find a way to blame someone else for their bad parenting.
They're too lazy to take care of their own damn kids, so they yell at the Government and Media to do it for them without really considering the actual repercussions of such a proposition.
My parents wouldn't let me watch anything they thought was inappropriate, they'd actually check out movies and shows beforehand. I had to show them that Half-Life 2 was no worse than Terminator 2 content-wise and that the M rating is applied incredibly liberally, probably sowed the seeds of hatred for most rating system's general excessive broadness and lack of specificity in me early. Like seriously? A game no worse than the average guns-blazing 80's/90's action movie that most people are ok with showing their 10-13 year olds gets the same rating as the GTA games, which has drugs, strippers and prostitutes? What? Seriously? Just anything that's not kiddie stuff gets an Automatic M, except for Skullgirls for some reason, they got a T and I swear I remember seeing somewhere that it was because they were 2D. Like, boobs are boobs, I don't think the number of dimensions make much of a difference.
I'm not saying anything should be treated more harshly because arbitrary reason, but what on Earth are the requirements for each rating. I've just seen more than a few ratings that a little questionable, like "Why does this deserve an M?"
