They released it this month because they wanted to cash on the Christmas sales. The game was already delayed multiple times, and generally, devs don't let some basement trolls' letters stop or alter their development of a game.
As much as I don't want to blame them for releasing a glitchy and buggy asf game, I think they got this result because of their own greed
