The Petrol Bomber commemorates the Battle of the Bogside, which was a three day riot between the Catholics of the Bogside area of Derry and the Royal Ulster Constabulary (RUC) backed up by Loyalists. It was ended when the army called in to break it up and was the first major conflict of The Troubles.
