I think Bush was the origin of why certain people (mostly islamophobes) like to say "Islam is a religion of peace" ironically after an islamic terrorist attack occurs, particularly when Bush said "Islam, as practiced by the vast majority of people, is a peaceful religion, a religion that respects others".

If you ask me personally, I don't have any particular beef with muslims, christians, jews, or any other religious group, but as an atheist, I don't believe there's such a thing as a "religion of peace". Heck, even the buddhists have a pretty rich history of warfare.
