Virgin vs. Chad - Self Confidence

Man, this might be the worst meme variant to reach the front page in the history of this entire website. It's an extraordinarily narrow definition of humor and doesn't account for the ways in which each of these styles of humor can be taken advantage of (or abused, for that matter). You can be self-deprecating while still being funny--it doesn't just have to result in a pity party, not if you know how to present it properly like a normal, well-adjusted human being. By contrast, very often "self-confident humor" can easily slide into douchebaggery in the form of putting others around you down. The cheap/shortcut way of making yourself look good is to make jokes at others' expense to make them look bad by contrast, which is what the Chad depicted here often does.
