What Is A 'Goon Corner?' The TikTok And Instagram Trend About Adding A Corner Meant For 'Gooning' Explained
TikTok and Instagram users are currently stumbling upon videos that have so-called "Goon Corners" in them, which show an attractive woman preening for the viewer in a small quadrant of an unrelated clip.
Of course, the trend is likely confusing for people who don't know what the slang term "goon" means, but using context clues, it's somewhat simple to surmise the purpose of the lewd sections.
For some reason, fans of the mobile game Clash Royale have taken a particular interest in the Goon Corner method. But why?
So, what is a "Goon Corner" exactly? Where did the trend come from, and why is it so prevalent online? Let's explain.
What Is A 'Goon Corner?'
The "Goon Corner" is a video added on top of another video, usually showing an attractive woman displaying her body. These kinds of videos have historically been called "thirst traps," but with the invention of the Goon Corner, any video can become a "bonk" pitfall.
The visual format stems from so-called "overstimulation videos," also known as "sludge content," which got its start with Family Guy clips and Subway Surfers gameplay keeping the viewer's eye occupied.
The Goon Corner is somewhat of a degenerate subversion of the original sludge content formula. Instead of "oddly satisfying" visuals shown, it's a raunchy e-girl clip aiming to trigger one's primal instincts.
Where Did The 'Goon Corner' Meme Come From?
An Instagram user named Perk Tunes (@perktunes) seems to be the creator of the Goon Corner meme. He shared his first slew of Goon Corner videos back in March 2025.
"This is truly the peak of human innovation," wrote one commenter on an early Perk Tunes video. "I'm so glad I wasn’t born 50 years ago," they continued.
Perk Tunes has evolved the meme since then, mostly by incorporating new "corners" to quench the thirsts of other people. There's now the "femboy" corner," the "goth corner" and even the "LeBron corner," which just shows LeBron James for the NBA player's devoted "glazers."
What Does The 'Goon Corner' Have To Do With 'Clash Royale?'
Goon Corner videos have recently spread to TikTok and are mostly being shared by fans of the game Clash Royale. The players are posting their gameplay highlights and using the Goon Corner method to keep people engaged.
The Clash Royale iterations are sometimes even more degenerate than Perk Tunes' original videos, because many of the ones on TikTok sneak in actually graphic content that one would miss without looking closely.
The naughty trend is generating viral reactions in the Clash Royale fandom and is somewhat becoming synonymous with the "ClashTok" community.
