In Super Mario Galaxy, the black holes have a smeared pattern of colors around their edges. This is actually an image, extremely heavily distorted and overlaid with a red filter. Extracting the image from the files shows that before the distortion, it shows a scene of what appears to be an early version of Beach Bowl Galaxy.
