I was dreading that it was going to be boring and generic.
Hell no. This is just as golden as the base game. Most of the time she flat-out forgets that she fell, she's so caught up in her research. Then the subtleties come into play:
Firstly, she explicitly wishes to "cure sin." At her core she still has a lot of angel left in her. The "guilt" is still operative in "guilty pleasure." But then the second subtlety comes in, making things honestly rather dark: she realizes that she has truly fallen, and it TERRIFIES her. She slips into full-on denial, insisting that her halo still exists (she vividly remembers destroying it herself), before throwing herself into her work to try and forget once more.
