In Chapter 2-3 of Super Paper Mario, Mario must pay off a 1,000,000 Rubee debt. The intended solution is to take them from a safe; however, it is possible to earn them legitimately, which would at maximum speed take 9 hours, 33 minutes and 54 seconds.

In Chapter 2-3 of Super Paper Mario, the villain Mimi tricks Mario into paying off a debt of one million Rubees, a special currency that can only be earned by performing tasks within that chapter. The intended way of completing the chapter is to take the 1,000,000 Rubees out of a safe, so that Mario only has to legitimately earn a small amount that he exchanges for information about the safe. However, it is actually possible to earn the 1,000,000 Rubees legitimately without touching the safe. You got 18000 Rubees. Out of the two tasks used to earn Rubees, the hamster wheel is the more efficient one. Each frame of running, Mario earns 0.5 Rubees, which translates to 1800 Rubees a minute. However, the payout for each time entering the wheel is capped at 18000 Rubees (left), and it takes 20 seconds of optimal movement to exit, take the payout, and reenter the wheel. As such, it takes 55 runs of 10 minutes to earn 990,000 Rubees, and a final run of 5 minutes and 34 seconds to earn 10,000 more Rubees for a total of one million. Adding to that 55 breaks of 20 seconds for payouts, we get 573 minutes and 54 seconds, or 9 hours, 33 minutes and 54 seconds to earn 1,000,000 Rubees legitimately. Supper Mario Broth @MarioBrothBlog In Paper Mario, a specific type of event-only enemy that is only fought once in the game has a unique weakness to an attack that is not designed to be used against these enemies, so that it took 18 years after the game's release for this effect to be discovered. Details below. HP O 8/10 x 55 x203 Hammer Hammer Throw 2Fp NICE Hits one enemy with the Hammer, na matter where the enemy is. In Paper Mario, many enemies have elemental weaknesses, eg. fire-based enemies take extra damage from ice attacks etc. The vast majority of these weaknesses are obvious through the enemy's design, and shared with other similar enemies. However, there is one weakness that is so obscure it took 18 years after the game's release to even attempt to use that attack against that specific enemy to discover it During one event in Chapter 6, green Monty Moles appear. They are fought only then, and disappear forever afterwards. For an unknown reason, (normal enemies would have taken 6 damage in the screenshots). The Hammer Throw badge is designed to be used against flying or ceiling- bound enemies - against ground-bound enemies, it is equivalent to a regular Hammer attack, so almost no players would use it against the Monty Moles, much less event-only ones, much less expect it to have any sort of special effect, leading to this being undiscovered for so long.
