An emulator will always have a harder time running a game than straight from the hardware; you need SERIOUS power to overcome the "emulation tax". Older systems like an NES are so simple that overcoming that and then some is trivial, but a recent system like the Switch? Not nearly so easy, not to mention all the complex, specific and proprietary rendering and computational methods that can make accurate emulation difficult.
