Interesting; weirdly enough, this might actually be the first time I've seen any historical reference to the KKK from the 1940s, as we always mainly hear about them in the contexts of the post-Civil War reconstruction, the 1920s and the 60s-70s civil rights movement, but rarely in-between those eras.

More likely that it would be laughed out of the room. Everyone knows that comics are widely used to spread the authors ideas, so everyone who doesn't already agree will just see the author trying to win them over.
