The controversy is that He-Man is used extensively in the trailer and marketing, making the show look like it's He-Man's grand return and a return to form for macho man cartoons.
Instead, He-Man dies in the first episode and Teela takes over as protagonist.
These people don't actually like anything. They don't financially support the products they claim to support on Twitter, they just love seeing companies stick to the gamers. The more contempt a franchise holder shows for the fans, the more rabidly these people will defend it.
