This is an example of a Monopoly, which is how a free market dies of old age. Ninety percent of the time when people complain about the faults of Capitalism they are actually complaining about the Monopolies that kill Capitalism.

This is also why Communism universally fails to improve people's lives, because whenever a modern society tries to implement it the implementation always ends up being a state owned Monopoly.

So really if you want prosperity you need to treat the economy like a fruit tree and occasionally prune or trim any branch that gets big enough to be a detriment to the tree. This is the job the American government is supposed to be doing, but has been neglecting these last couple of decades.
