If what is said about Espurr's ears are true by Pokemon lore, perking them up will cause a blast radius that will do serious (even deadly) harm.
With both ears here perked up, it could mean the owner it is staying with trained it super duper well, OR that Espurr is so comfortable around her that it can let its guard down and have its ears under control. A really great detail if it is indeed intentional (and I have to assume so because this artist in particular creates really detailed Pokemon gifs).
