Gun/English (in one word: MURICA) question:

Do you refer to a loaded gun as "hot", like one would refer to a live/hot wire in the context of electricity?

Because right now the only results coming up even for just "hot gun" are this controversy. Thanks, Algorithm!

no one refers to a loaded gun as hot. Like Wilm210 said, usually it refers to a stolen/criminal gun. On a shooting range, when the range is ready for people to shoot, we call it hot (i.e. "range is going hot!") and call it cold when everyone ceases firing and puts their gun on safe so that people can safely go down range to check/adjust their targets
