Honestly I'm glad the inventors of this trend were braindead, and went with the dumbest looking digital assets out there.

Currency shouldn't look like ass. There's a reason most coins and paper currency have historic phrases and portraits of important people on them. Even popular Pokemon cards looked cool, hence, kids would value them.

Now imagine if someone from a developing country tried to push some weird, ugly currency onto its already functional economy. "Alright, trading silk and valuable metals is nice, sure, sure… but can I interest you in some… minted animal stickers?"

Had NFTs started off as, and been known to represent something attractive to look at, like cute anime girls or meme gifs, things would be going far worse than they are now.
