Awesomebro - When the dinosaur documentary is accurate

1h ago Too speculative, too mundane, and makes the dinosaurs act too much like modern animals. If we wanted to see real animals we'd watch REAL nature documentaries, the only reason anyone even watches dinosaur documentaries is to see epic battles between apex predators and not a cutesy daddy T. rex affectionately nuzzling his babies. In fact, if they want to be scientifically accurate, there is little or no evidence of tyrannosaurs caring for their young and plenty of evidence for tyrannosaur cannibalism, and papa rex should be merely tolerating the babies at best and even eating some of them. But of course they had to appeal to a Disney-fied portrayal of the apex 3 May 2022 land predator of the Cretaceous, and shy away 20 I'm very VERY sorry to report that this is, essentially, Fantasy from just how violent and merciless nature can be. These aren't the smart and social mammals we know today. These were primitive, primal creatures whose small and simple brains knew no family, only prey. Then again, what else can we expect from the director of the dreadful Lion King remake. Oh how disappointed and, I guess betrayed I feel, by David Attenbourough-He's always so careful to stipulate and disclaim what is understood and what is theorized - and in this case it's presented as if these behaviors are factually supported - they are not! As an ethologist, take umbrage to simply transferring the behaviors of contemporaneous organisms and assigning them to long extinct dinosaurs - this is a sad day ans this is more akin to a 'shark week' sensationalized and produced 'documentary' than anything David has done to date sad day indeed OF COURSE THERE IS NO HARM IN THE SPECULATION, BUT PLEASE ADVISE YOUR CHILDREN THAT IT'S MERELY AN EDUCATED GUESS (AT BEST) SHOW LESS 9 out of 78 found this helpful Was this review helpful?
