The thing that really fucks me up is how people just say "white" like it's some single ethnic group. Europe consists of many ethnic groups who have had conflicts with other groups. Discrimination, genocide, even.

Imagine having to leave your country because the English took all of your farmland, reducing your crop diversity severely, and then the PM has the gall to say the famine was because you and your ilk are "Lazy potato eaters".

You travel to the new world in hopes of finding success. You don't find it, but your children slowly claw their way out of the depths of poverty. Finally, in the modern day, your family is getting by and living a happy life, and one of your descendants decides to run for political office during a time of unease.

…And promptly gets called "Just another white guy" and a "colonizer" by other white people online because an alarming number of people think all white people are from the same English-esq group who've had it too good for too long.

It isn't about the authors nor the books themselves, but the soyjak on the picture using them to justify his own prejudice.
