If it even counts as a controversy it's a short-lived one. Twitter assumed Shiver was trans/nb/whatever the gender fashion of the week is, and had the wind knocked out of their sails when it was confirmed she's a girl. It's not really a big deal, it's just hilarious that a movement based on overcoming gender roles now now assumes a character's gender based on their fashion and behavior.

Twitter dreams were crushed once again. And it only becomes more satisfying each time it happens.
