"Men account for close to three out of every four "deaths of despair — suicide and drug overdoses." It's all very sad, but let's look at women's lives in the West less than 100 years ago. Women did have fewer opportunities (but they took them). Women's incomes, if they even had an income, were much less than men's - but we demanded more. Men used to say that women couldn't work as hard as men (and some still say it). We proved them wrong. Women often led lonely lives, staying at home with nothing to do, or having to take care of children or their aged parents. Women used not to be able to divorce even the worst husbands except for extreme cruelty. We changed that. Women got us out of this oppression. Nobody is oppressing men (as a group - obviously many people are oppressed, but not for being men). So, c'mon men - get yourselves out of this rut! Young men have been raised on outdated values, they have no direction in life and it's literally killing them and destabilizing the very fabric of our society Yes I know, but did you know that women had it so much worse but we fought for our rights and won in the end? Why don't you guys just pull yourselves by the bootstraps like we did?
