One day, a bird went in search of a cage in which he could keep his pets safe and sound. First, he came upon a cage wrought of iron. "This will not do" said the bird "for one day these cold, grey bars will rust and they will be free." Next, he came upon a cage gilded in gold. "This will not do" said the bird "for one day, these beautifully crafted bars will bend and they will be free." Then, he came upon a cage made of blinding light with power crackling brightly between its bars. "This will not do" said the bird "for one day, the light will go out and they will be free." Sad, the bird returned home, knowing that there was nothing he could buy that would keep his pets safe forever. The bird sulked, unable to feel happy and woke up everyday expecting his pets to have disappeared in the night. Sad, the bird woke up. Sad, the bird went to bed. However, every time the bird arose from his slumber his pets would still be there, waiting for him. The bird could not believe it. There was nothing to stop them from running off, or from causing mischief, but his pets were always as good as gold and never left his side. The bird laughed.
