But yeah, background for me in Fire Emblem: I played FE7 back in 2003 when I first caught wind of it (it was that little booklet about big-name RPG titles that came with Link to the Past). Was terrible as a 10-y/o, but I absolutely loved it once I understood it. Immediately got Sacred Stones, and it was my JAM (though the spider in Ch. 6 may have traumatized me a bit). Never got Path of Radiance back in the day, but I did play Radiant Dawn. I beat it, and it was good, but it was an overload of mechanics, and it was just waaaay too long for my standards. Then I got Shadow Dragon for my birthday, and ngl, it might be my favorite FE game hands down.

Then Awakening Happened, and while I enjoyed it at first, it was the first FE that made me drop the franchise altogether. The grind-based gameplay hit me so hard, I genuinely made myself question what I played FE games for, or if I had an addiction problem with gaming.
