Caught wind of Heemeyer's appeals and wrote editorials making fun of him Was the final straw in his rage and prompted the rampage TOWN NEWSPAPER THE KILLDOZER Bulldozer converted into a bootleg tank He wrecked their office SHED VISITORS Multiple townspeople Heemeyer brought to his shed to see the Killdozer's construction progress Not a single one mentioned seeing the Killdozer or the various weapons scattered around Found that Heemeyer wasn't connected to the sewer line and fined him for health violation Heemeyer believed that God had clouded their judgement and it was divine intervention He filed an appeal but they denied it and raised the fine First building destroyed in the rampage Covered with 1-foot thick armor, impervious to small-arms fire and most explosives Was steered through cameras covered with bulletproof glass Was fitted with a suicide cabin When dismantled, the parts were sent to different scrapyards to prevent copycats from rebuilding it Filed for a construction permit on the road leading to Heemeyer's business; it was granted and they built their factory During construction they severed NATIONAL GUARD Had an Apache attack helicopter and planned to missile- strike the killdozer Heemeyer's sewage line, starting the downward spiral Was on standby, awaiting orders from Governor Owens to move in POLICE Failed Surrounded the killdozer and tried to disable it with small arms fire Plans were called off when it was decided it would be too risky to bomb a populated area CONCRETE FACTORY MARVIN HEEMEYER Lonely man with no family who moved to a small Colorado town and opened a muffler repair business Was wronged multiple times by bureaucracy and decided to take the ultimate revenge So got a backhoe and tried to duel the killdozer Heemeyer flipped the backhoe over and crushed several cars They shrugged and waited for the rampage to burn itself out Spent 18 months building an elaborate homemade tank then took it on a rampage to destroy the buildings of everyone who wronged him Made sure never to harm anyone Never intended to leave the dozer alive, shot himself and left behind a menifesto
