The fact we're seeing this image means one of three possibilities:
1) No, as a good and loving God would not suffer such a blasphemous thing to exist
2) Yes, He is wrathful, and this is punishment for our sins
3) That is a divine image of God, sent directly from heaven, and we were all wrong – so very, tragically wrong
