About
Big Jack Horner is the main antagonist in the 2022 film Puss in Boots: The Last Wish. He is a crime lord and pastry chef and is depicted as large and overweight with pink hair and a suit. Jack Horner is also known for stealing magical items. In the film, he is attempting to steal the Wishing Star to harness the planet's magic. Following the film's release in late December 2022, Jack Horner was praised online for being a captivating villain and became the subject of fan art and memes across social media, including Sigma Grindset and fancam edits.
Origin
On December 21st, 2022, the animated film Puss in Boots: The Last Wish, produced by DreamWorks Animation, premiered. The film, which is a sequel to the 2011 film Puss in Boots, follows the story of the titular protagonist (voiced by Antonio Banderas) who is on a quest to restore eight of his nine lives (trailer shown below).
The main antagonist in the film is "Big" Jack Horner, formerly "Little" Jack Horner, a feared pastry chef and a crime lord who is trying to get the Wishing Star before Puss in Boots can (compilation of Jack Horner shown below). Jack Horner notably received praise from many online as a good villain, with some saying they preferred him to the film's other main antagonist, Death.[1][2]

For example, on December 22nd, 2022, Twitter[3] user @claireonacloud posted fan art of the character, garnering over 1,100 likes in a month. On January 9th, 2023, Twitter[4] user @BrendanPham4 posted an edit of a scene from the film putting voice clips of JonTron over Horner's voice, garnering over 4,100 likes in 10 days (shown below).

The character also became popularized on TikTok, where some users began posting Sigma Grindset edits of him. On January 10th, 2023, TikTokers[5][6] @grindsetedits and @garfench posted sigma edits of Jack Horner, garnering over 875,000 views and 3.1 million views, respectively, in nine days (shown below, left and right).

On January 13th, Twitter[7] user @DenalPlan posted a screenshot from the film of Horner pondering an orb, writing, "The way Jack Horner ponders the orb in this picture is literally the most thug ass gangster shit like holy hell its so badass," garnering over 20,000 likes in six days
