Supper Mario Broth @MarioBrothBlog In Mario Kart Wii, Wario's Gold Mine contains a texture that appears to be completely blank. Concealed within is a Mii head that may or may not be faceless. An analysis and mockups of what the Mii may have looked like are provided. In the files of Wario's Gold Mine in Mario Kart Wii, there is an image named MiiDummy.tex that looks like this: It appears to be completely blank. However, that is not the case. Inside the image data, pixel brightness values can be found; however, all pixels are simply made 100% transparent. Returning the pixels to full opacity reveals this image: It is a very low-resolution (10x12 pixels) image of a Mii face. On the right is speculation on what it could look like. ter user ©¤¸nigus, Twitter user @HEYH The Faceless Hypothesis The Eccentric Hypothesis These mock-ups were created by Mill expert @HEYimHeroic after extensive analysis of the source image Both of them result in very similar images to the source image when scaled down and desaturated. The source image appears to not have any facial features except the nose. It is possible that to create a Mii placeholder, the developers intentionally made a Mii that is as undefined as possible, removing its eyes, eyebrows and mouth. Nintendo is also known to create developer Miis with eccentric facial features. If the mouth, eyes and eyebrows are arranged in such a way that they are as close to the hair and nose as possible, the scaled-down image would appear to be faceless as the facial features would blend in. Note also that the Mii does not match up with any default Wii Mii, meaning that it was created specifically for Mario Kart Wii.
