Tbh, Russia (and the USSR on its last years) did have popular boy bands of their own. Laskoviy May, Na-Na, Ivanushki International were all household names in here. Hell, with the popularity of One Direction in the 2010s, we even had our own go at the "factory-made vat-grown pretty boy quartet" thing with MBAND.
