A celebration of Life will be held from 12 PM to 4 PM, with a service at 1 PM on Sunday, August 7, 2022, at the Dwight Olsen Center. Caring for Thomas and his family is the Shirley Funeral Chapel. Originally from Plano, IL, Thomas or Tom was born on June 14, 1987. Growing up, Tom ran cross country for Plano High School and participated in the debate and model UN. After graduating High School, Tom attended Beloit college and received a bachelors degree in geology. He then moved to Wyoming and spent several years working for the National Park Service before reconnecting with his highschool crush and moving back to Illinois to be with them. Tom and his partner moved to Oswego where he started working for the city as part of the grounds crew. Tom was loved by everyone who knew him and his smile and laugh was said to be infectious. He will be missed and deeply remembered by everyone in his life. Tom is survived by his parents, Dale and Judy Allord; sister, Suzanne; brothers, Joel and David; and his cat, Scrambles, whom he spoiled rotten. Shirley Funeral Chapels Catherine Philbaum Catherine Philbaum, age 72, formerly of Plano, IL, passed away January 12, 2023, in Elgin, after a series of health problems. She was born in Chicago on February 12, 1950, to Alan and Melinda Philbaum.
