Fun fact, it's not the egg that's the issue. Raw eggs aren't especially bad for you (although, cracking an egg potentially introduces harmful bacteria from the outside of the egg), it's the flour that can cause food poisoning. The flour hasn't been heat treated to kill anything, because it's assumed that you will… you know… cook anything the flour is in.
