No one deserves to be mocked or ridiculed for dying, but these two situations are not the same. I'd say the person who was brutally murdered by a person with a weapon for no reason deserves more sympathy than the person who could have easily avoided their own death with very simple preventative measures but actively, of their own free will, made the decision to reject those measures.
