My athletic daughter wears cloths that are unflattering sometimes. She likes to tuck her shirt sleeves under, which resembles a bulky tank top and this makes her look like a linebacker! (She wont wear regular sleeveless shirts?!) And, she hikes her shorts like erkle. Her b is always hungry. Although we live in Pennsylvania, she wears shorts and a t-shirt nearly every day, likes socks with Crocks and, wrinkles never bothered her anyway. She just doesn't care what I think or, for that matter, what anyone thinks?! Yearbook photos are happening and I honestly want her to be remembered as a pretty girl and not a weird-o. (lol). I am writing anonymously bc I'm ashamed to admit that I try to shame her into changing. I criticize her and insult her because asking her, or attempting to kindly direct her doesn't seem to have an effect, neither do insults. So, I am asking for advice. How to parent more effectively to be more peaceful and get results. FYI: She wears a size small shirt, medium shorts, 5'2", 140lbs. She is very strong! Plays goalie and Striker,, MB and OH in volleyball, runs track, throws javelin, is a cheerleader... A pretty girl that the boys seem to crush on for years. She is in 8th grade. 11 53 comments
