A piece of concept art shared by Jiro Mifune, a designer involved with the original SNES version of SMRPG. Mifune revealed that during the very early concept stages of development the designers considered giving the entire game a Three Musketeers theme in order to give it a "more traditional fantasy" look, and Peach was even going to be a queen in this early version. This concept was ultimately scrapped in favor of keeping the traditional Mario art style, but the concept art is pretty neat looking and I'd be down for a different Mario RPG that re-explores this early concept.
