Honestly, I get it. These were defiantly things I would have said back in middle school during the late 2000s.

However, at the time I didn't think of them as "memes", much less ones from the internet. They were more like in-jokes basically everyone in my age group knew. I wasn't allowed on the internet much even at that age, so they felt to me like stuff that came around and stuck for a while.

Maybe that's how kids see it now. And how I see modern kids is how adults see myself then. But the internet has evolved from a place you visited to a thing that's omnipresence in your pocket, as a result it actually feels easier to contribute things to social media brainrot and a genuine joke.
