Not in a show like this.

The Changeling's affiliation is not immediately evil for wanting to survive. They had to feed, and Equestria was a banquet. If I was the leader of the Changelings, I would invade Equestria too. It would be for the best of my people.

They shouldn't be exterminated for trying to survive; they shouldn't be exterminated period. They have their lands, the ponies have theirs.

As awesome as that would be, I doubt the focus of the show would change towards something like that. It will still be about ponies learning about friendship in a non-warzone
