Explanation As a "bully monster" that lives on Monster Island in Ichiro's imaginary world, "Gabara" also just happens to be the nickname of the boy tormenting him in real life. Taller than Godzilla, it might seem like an adult monster is bullying child Minilla. However, the word for "bully" in Japanese is ambiguous and leaves the possibility that despite its appearance Gabara is also a child. That would, in turn, mean that Godzilla has gotten involved in a child's spat... Scenes where Gabara's suit, without interior actors, flies through the air when Minilla knocks it off a seesaw or is tossed over Godzilla's back are memorable, and seem to contribute to Gabara's somewhat pitiful image.
