On March 10th, 2025, X^[1] user @posting_forever posted the earliest known iteration of the catchphrase "molested the money," writing, "Elon Musk molested the money and the money went bad," in response to a tweet about Donald Trump's favorability dropping in Texas. The post gathered over 16,500 views and 800 likes in a month.
