Have you ever thought what would happen if some little girl was looking for My Little Pony episodes on youtube and accidently found one of your pony videos? How would you feel being responsible for exposing her to all those creepy things just because she wanted to watch an innocent cartoon? Yeah I've thought about it. There are a lot of things to remember Firstly, any parents who let their children surf the web unsupervised are asking for trouble. When you actually think about it, the internet is a place where snuff films, child p--- and 2 girls 1 cup can all be stumbled upon at any moment, sometimes entirely unintentionally Really, my cartoons are the lesser of two evils when compared to some of the stuff I'm sure you can see online. The responsibility of shielding their kids from this stuff needs to fall on the parents, not anyone else Secondly, I have a general philosophy about children that can be summed up in 5 words; They're smarter than you think. No matter what age group we're talking here, they always have a much larger grasp on the nature of our world than you would expect them to. The reality is that 5-year-olds are probably as smart as you would expect 8-year-olds to be, 8-year-olds are as smart as 12-year-olds, etc. The kids who watch my cartoons didn't learn the word “f---" from me, I assure you. They learn it from hearing it on the playground 50 timesa ay durng recess But I'm not naive. I know that even though I make my cartoons for adults, they're being watched and enjoyed by children. The vast majority of my audience is probably under 18 Kids crave adult entertainment. They don't like being pandered to, and they like having their intellects challenged and rewarded. I was the same way as a kid. The good news is it all has zero effect on a child's developmental growth and overall mental well-being. Watching a scary movie doesn't turn a child into a whimpering pantophobe, nor does:it turn them into a serial killer. At the end of the day, a child's psychological state is molded by their relationship with their parents more than any other factor, and CERTAINLY more than what they watch on tv, in movies, and on the internet.
