If these people used to be "bible-banging homophobes," then they never were Christians in the first place. This doesn't restore my faith in humanity one bit; it's as if the entire Christian belief system is being associated with homophobia. Christianity advocates love, forgiveness, and compassion. If there are pastors in the Church who act bad toward homosexuals, then screw those jerks, but don't associate the entire belief system.

It's kinda weird that they shun upon gay people which contradicts to the most important commandment of God: "Love God, and love your neighbour" (I shortened it because why not, and yes I'm a catholic)
