The argument used was that mocking him for being short is not enough provocation to HIT A GURL, even though the Wii Fit Trainer did the same thing:

Never mind that Samus is an intergalactic super soldier who can totally handle herself in a fight even without her fully-armored Power Suit. Really, the complaining about sexism actually seems more sexist.

Already there's a post calling this sexism on Tumblr. I seriously shouldn't have been surprised at this point.
