In a more serious tone, it's basically a show that encouraged reading. The guy that hosted it was Kunta Kinte from Roots.

This needs a bit of an explanation: LeVar Burton brought up this Kickstarter earlier this morning (May 28th). It was completed in under 12 hours.

Probably the only thing faster funded project of its sort? The Veronica Mars movie Kickstarter.
