real talk tho see, my issue with otherkin is, besides the obvious, is why people always identify as heavily romanticized animals or figures or whatever. deer, wolves, cats, dragons, fairies, stars, robots, space, angels, sharks, gems, gods, the list goes on and on. if this whole kin thing is to be believed, we'd be seeing a lot of bacteriakin, singlecelledorganismkin, algaekin, seacucumberkin, etc. same thing goes for fictionkin. why is it always a member of the main cast or characters that everyone loves, like loki or karkat or whoever? even if identifying as someone else's creation was remotely possible, why those n npc the player speaks to once and forgets about #text #real talk #otherkin

For me, this is what differentiates otherkin from a full fledged religion or philosophy, it only seems to exist to give validation to those that associate with it, rather than provide some kind of belief or guidance.
