Something about randomly asking someone who their favorite Idolm@ster is just seems hilarious to me. Also, it seems like it's a troll setup of some sort – like you just ask it randomly to annoy/confuse people. That, or if you know the person likes the series you can just name an unrelated character. "Who's your favorite Idolm@ster? Mine's Miss Piggy".

Sorry I put too much thought into that.
