I'm guessing the one that possessed the puppet was murdered either at Fredbear's Family Diner, or the restaurant that preceded the ones in 1 and 2. And there would be no need to repeat old news in the wake of a new tragedy, especially if, in universe, no one knows the two separate acts of murder were actually related.
