A more positive spin I've seen on this was one person saying "this just showed how deeply Iwata respected the fanbase, because he was aware fans were not pleased with this year's E3 and promised them next time will be better."

But of course it's sad to know that he won't get the chance to be the one to reveal NX to us…

Doesn't help that Iwata's last message to the public was an apology and a promise for next year's E3 to be much better.
