People don't hate her because she reacts realistically to things, people hate her because of her twisted mentality. People don't realize that, if she wasn't the way she is, some of the best episodes in the series wouldn't exist.
Morally Correct Character =/= Well-Written Character
Thought/Feel-Provoking Character == Well-Written Character

This time is different. This time she jeopardized the safety of all life on earth just so she could feel better about herself for a few minutes at a time. Everything else she did could be forgiven but this was way over the line.
