This week, we're celebrating the epic accomplishments of our moderation team! In this thread, share your favorite KYM mod moments, compliments and words of encouragement, etc. For the mods, if you would like to share or promote something that you've been working on KYM or outside of KYM, feel free to plug in links here for us check out!

FYI, here are some ideas that are being planned for the appreciation week:

  • NEWSFEED POSTS PERSONALLY RECOMMENDED BY KYM MODERATORS
  • HIGHLIGHTING KYM MOD'S EXTERNAL PROJECTS & WEBSITES
  • AMA (Ask Me Anything) STYLE Q&A THREAD WITH INDIVIDUAL MODS
  • GOT SUGGESTIONS? MESSAGE ADMINS!
  • There was that time RandomMan gave me editorship of my first article and checked after me to make sure it was decent.
  • There was that time when one of the mods featured the Inb4 the lock thread.
  • There was that time when PimpAbra and other mods got together and better defined the rules for porn in the forums.
  • There was that time when Tomberry asked about Bronies on KYM to better understand just what the crap was going on and why we were doing certain things. He also explained why he thought we shouldn't do certain things.
  • There was that time when rapturjesus got banned.
    • Subsequently, he came back and now I think he's one of the funnier users on here.
  • Oh, and there was that time when RandomMan made that pretty comprehensive Textile/HTML guide.

Not to mention the funny stuff forum mods post in the forums. Like that time when RandomMan tagged me as the shapely butt one of the family portraits. Or most of the images PimpAbra posts.

And that's just from what I've seen. Brucker? Link to blog, plz? I need to bookmark it.

I am hoping to see Watcher or some of the older mods come back for this…….
…….Or, maybe even Jamie Dubs will come and answer all our questions!

WHERE TO BEGIN!?

Whenever I was working on the Cthulhu article, Random Man was incredibly forgiving of my newbie-ness and even filled me in on a few things… Of course, he wasn't a mod then, but I'm sure he does the same thing for everyone still.

Let's see…

DPF is a hilarious guy- and the best part? If you ever need to/just want to talk to him, get on the IRC. He'll more than likely be there.

Cyber. He doesn't say much, but when he does, it's concise and sometimes even funny. I envy that.

Pimp Abra… He and I actually share a lot in common when it comes to musical tastes… He also starts some fun thread games every now and then. (in other words, he's a man with great taste who doesn't afraid of anything.)

You know what? I could write a comprehensive list, detailing every little thing that makes a lot of our mods great, but it'd just end up with it looking like I'm kissing up to em, so I stop here and say-

Cheers, guise.

For the most part I think the modding on this site is great. Never have I seen anything extremely inappropriate (i.e. porn, gore, ect) so I think that's pretty good. You guys aren't all stubborn about most things and have a good sense of humor. Also I feel that sense of dedication to the site which is pretty cool. Good community and forum mods do an outstanding job same with entry mods. I also like how Brad puts in the contests and gives the site variety. Outstanding job to all.

tl;dr
This is one of mt favorite sites on the web, I raise my glass

Also I like whoever featured the "Inb4 The Lock" thread

I enjoyed Drpepperfan's reaction when I commented in his wall, also I also loved it when Sav gave me advice of what to do after I eat an Egg Omelet. No really guys I'm not making this up, that actually happened and it helped me a lot. (THANKS AGAIN SAV!)

Well, if I'm essentially being asked to plug my blog, I will certainly oblige:

Running from elevators, a blog touching on the subjects of metaphysics, science, political ideology, feminism, theology, the evolution/creation debate, typography, comics, and gay penguins. You will find on the sidebar links to my other blogs, posts within the blog that are personal favorites, and links to blogs of my friends and people I find interesting.

Pretty much all this, the mods are way more friendly than most other site mods.

Pardon the necro, but this freaks me out a bit. I was looking for something, my search told me it might be here, but it wasn't. What was here however, was an open thread that in the controls indicates it should have auto-locked on January 5th, a little over six weeks ago. This site seems to be getting glitchier by the day.

Since Brucker nerco'd this thread I may as well post seeing as I forgot to 2 months ago.

My favorite mods:

RandomMan – Really involved with the site and admins and filled with great advice and helpfulness.

Teh Brawler – Great fun to talk to and not afraid to ask for help. So happy he got a well deserved modship.

Chris / Pimp Abra – Really helpful to me and always willing to provide it. His opinions are always well thought out and concise.

@Brucker's Scumbag KYM image macro, even if we got the opportunity to get paid by KYM I'd refuse purely because being chosen to be a mod on KYM & getting to be part of this great community is rewarding enough in itself! :3

The overwhelming love ITT prevented it from Autolocking

Featured threads never get locked, so that's why it's still open.

If it gets unfeatured it would become locked immediately.

Hmmm… So long as this has been bumped again, I notice that I have zero kramas on this post. It's not that I expect every post I have will be showered with kramas, nor that I expect everyone to "get" my humor, but it occurs to me that many people might not have realized that it was a joke. Being a KYM moderator is far from the first job I've had that paid little or nothing, and while I of course would love to get money for it, I don't expect money nor resent the lack thereof. Just saying, because I've been told before that people sometimes don't understand when I'm joking.
